DAVID CARNEY

Attacking Midfielder/Left Full Back

David is a well-known Australian international who started his career with Everton, in a strong Everton youth team, which included players like Wayne Rooney.

After spending three years in England, David returned to Australia to join Sydney FC in the inaugural season of the Hyundai A-League and became an important foundation player for Sydney FC, who won the competition in its very first year.

David moved back to England in 2007 and continued to play overseas until 2014, when he finally returned to the A-League. Among his list of honours, David has won the Dutch Eredivisie, the A-League twice and the FFA Cup.

During a successful international career, which started in 2006, David has won 48 caps for Australia and scored 6 goals.

David was a member of the FIFA World Cup team in 2010 and has also played for Australia at two Asian Cups in 2007 and 2011. David has also represented Australia at the 2008 Olympic Games and at youth levels.
